The Prospectus is entirely created by Parkland students. These students serve various roles, including writing and editing articles, taking photographs, managing the website, and more.

I’m a sophomore at Parkland, earning an associate degree in general arts. My whole life, I’ve been passionate about literature and journalism, so I was really excited to join the Prospectus team this year! My intended major is Comparative Literature with a minor in Translation and Interpretation, so it’s safe to say that being part of the Prospectus aligns with my career goals. I love anything related to the arts, from theatre to poetry, to dance to cinema, so these are some of the topics I hope to immerse myself in even further through this experience as an editor!

Hello, my name is Michael Condos and I am a reporter for the Prospectus. I graduated from the High School of St. Thomas More in 2016. My major is technology/general studies. I have three computer certifications such as Google IT, Microsoft Administration, and Computer Foundations. I am a huge Illini fan and also a sports fan in general.⬎

My accomplishments are earning an Eagle Scout Award with two palms in December 2014, earning an Illinois Principals Award in February 2016, earning a Google IT certification in December 2019, Microsoft Administration certification in May 2021, Computer Foundations certification in December 2021, and also earning two scholarships from Heartland Bank and the Candy Foster Foundation at Parkland in April 2025. My current jobs are Ushering at Illini football games, serving as an Election Judge/Poll Worker in Champaign County, helping out with the red kennels for the Salvation Army during the holiday season, helping out with the food pantry during the spring season at Parkland, helping out with events in the local area for the Red Cross, and also still looking for a regular part-time employment job to help me in my career.

Hi, my name is Noah Hamilton. I’m currently a Political Science study, with a concentration in Philosophy. One passion I’ve had all my life is creativity. I love music, novels, adventure, stories, and harmony. I’m excited to join Prospectus, using it to build my experience in telling the story of others, reportage, and (especially) communications. At the end of my studies, I’m aiming to become a lawyer, yet unsure if I want to work for the federal government (clerkships) or become a finance attorney—educated in bankruptcy, financial malpractice, tax law, and the like. I have this passion for the hundreds of thousands of Americans who are sure they have a case regarding malpractice, but cannot fully build it. My favorite talking points are ethics (of any kind), musical lyricism, gossip, trends, and tragedy.
Qwertly Arts
Cartoonist
A rather strange fellow, Qwertly is an artistic extraterrestrial that specializes in digital art and video production. He is a cartoonist for The Prospectus and is the creator of the Quarterly comic strip series. He finds himself enjoying creating art (go figure) and watching movies. You can see some of his work scattered around the local Urbana-Champaign area and on his Instagram page.

Hi, my name is Khatera Akmal, and I’m a sophomore at Parkland College majoring in computer science. I enjoy playing badminton, my favorite sport, as well as volleyball.
