Work with us!

To work with The Prospectus, the following requirements must be met:

  • You must be a Parkland College student.
  • You must be taking at least 6 credit-hours in the spring and fall semesters and at least 3 credit-hours in the summer.
  • You must maintain a minimum institutional grade-point average (GPA) of 2.5.

No prior experience with news writing or work with newspapers is required. Creative writing skills can easily translate into news writing skills. Working with us is a great way to boost your résumé (particularly so for those going into journalism) and become more involved with the Parkland College community.

Every Prospectus staff member must conduct themselves in a way conducive with the Parkland student code of conduct at all times. Through their conduct, they are expected to represent themselves, The Prospectus, Parkland College, and journalists everywhere in a positive and professional manner.

If you’d like a paper application, stop by the Student Life help desk in the U-wing to pick up one. Paper applications can be returned to the Student Life help desk once completed.
