*Disclaimer* The following statement is posted as received from the candidate, no edits have been made. There are many students at Parkland that do not feel they have a voice. The common view is their problems are too small to deal with. In my eyes those problems are not too small; they are too big. The fact students have issues and do not feel they have someone to go to is problem we can solve. I believe the Student Government should be the mediator for the students. Similar to a senator to their state, I would be the senator for the students at Parkland. I will have the students' problems and issues become my problems and issues. I want there to be a safe opportunity, when one student has an issue I want them to know that their issue is being heard as well as taken care of. To properly accomplish this ideal senate; creating an environment where students feel comfortable telling their senator their problems is a must. My solution is to make myself available to hear the concerns of students and take the suggestions before the Student Government Board so that each student can be heard. One of the ways I can do this it to periodically walk around campus talking to individual students like I did to get their signatures for this petition to get on to the Student Government. Another was would be to send out a monthly e-mail to the students challenging them to contact the student government with their concerns they have concerning teachers, parking, athletic events, etc. My goal is to be the voice of the students.
