Efficient Cobras, take care of business against Lincoln Trail

The Parkland Women's Basketball team celebrated the holiday's early as they dominated Lincoln Trail 86-49 at the Dodds Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon. PC used a balanced attack to grab a 37-23 lead at intermission and then overwhelmed their guests 49-26 after the break to pick up the win.

Five Parkland players finished in double figures and all 11 Cobra players scored as Coach Karrie Redeker substituted often in the rout. Caitlyn Cody led all scorers with 16 points on 7-10 shooting while Ebany Brumfield had her best over-all game of the season finishing with a season high 14 points and also hauling down 12 boards. Kristyne Smyth added 13 points and 7 assists, Taylor Redeker had a career high 13, and Jeni Free finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds.

For the game, PC shot 49% from the field and dominated the Statesmen on the boards 55-31. Lincoln Trail (0-10) shot just 27% from the floor and converted on just 9-21 free throws. Parkland (9-3) will return to action on December 29 at 1:00 when they host Kirkwood in the Cobra Winter Classic.
